All Kindergarten, 2nd, and 6th grade students will be given the NNAT3 for the 2019-2020 school year. Testing will take place in September for 6th grade, October for 2nd grade, and November for Kindergarten.
What is the NNAT3?
Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test®
(NNAT®-3)- The NNAT3 provides a nonverbal, culturally neutral assessment of general ability that is ideal for use with a diverse student population. With the use of progressive matrices for seven grade-based levels, this versatile test is well-suited for identifying gifted and talented students.
Individual students are nominated to take the CogAT. If you are interested in the nomination process, please contact Lana von Tersch.
The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) measures students’ learned reasoning abilities in the three areas most linked to academic success in school: Verbal, Quantitative and Nonverbal. Its primary goal is to assess students’ reasoning abilities.
While CogAT is well-suited to help educators make important student placement decisions, such as selecting students for Gifted and Talented programs, exclusive features such as the Ability Profile Score can be used to expand the educational opportunities of all students.
